Allright! It took a long time and effort, but it's finally done!
The airsoft gun I used is the G&G's newer model of F2000s, utilizing short pmags instead of the standard STANAG ones.
I managed to wire a ~120 lumen reprogramable flashlight into the handguard and most of all the metal cowling.
The toughest nut was the cowling however, since I didn't want to repeat my mistakes by building a prop directly on my stuff, it'll be a nightmare to take off incase I need to perform maintenance to em. So I used two rail protectors and glued hard plastic on them instead, thus the cowling is easily removeable by slipping it out, revealing the accessory rail underneath it.
Then came the tricky part. Making the 1mm thich aluminium plate listen to me and shape it the way I want it. The hardest part was the tip of the cowling, I had to use two separate plates and hammering them together real careful, so that the plastic wouldn't give up underneath it.
Afterwards I spray painted part of the body with dark gray, which didn't even manage to stand out from the black... Haa... maybe I should've used a lighter gray after all, oh well~
Another issue is that I can't slip on the cowling or pull it off without taking off the flashhider, not that it bothers me much.
A tiny little more addition would have been an ammo counter utilizing IR-equipped flashhider, but as I lack the electronic skills to make a digital counter that counts down from 30-36, I gave up. A few green leds would have been nice too.
In anycase, I am quite satisfied with the results. In case my cosplay MA5 blows up and requires maintenance, I can substitute this over it~
Finally got around getting the right paint so that I can color it right. The goal was to have it resemble the MA5D-variant that appeared in Halo 4.
I'm quite satisfied with the final paintjob. I painted the body into a lighter shade of grey than the original, also painted the metal cowling so that it wont shine as much.
The hardest part was the new flashhider reminescent of the MA5D, I kinda got lazy to make the texturing to it, since I was too darn lazy after making the rectangular holes in it with only a hand file.
Later additions was a fast-adjustable sling that enabled me to switch from a rifle carry to a transport carry across my back.
